Dinosaur World

Dinosaur World is an outdoor dinosaur museum with over 150 life size dinosaurs. This museum is perfect for all ages. The paved ¾ mile walk through the native hardwood forest allows for a leisurely stroll through uniquely placed dinosaurs.
The interactive exhibits such as the Fossil dig, where guests can sift through sand in search of authentic fossils to take home, and the Boneyard, where visitors enter a unique structure to unearth a life size dinosaur skeleton, are just two examples of paleontological finds along your prehistoric adventure.

The indoor, air-conditioned museum, houses everything from raptor claws to mammoth tusks. The 5,000 square foot gift shop then gives the opportunity to purchase everything from dinosaur teeth to educational books and toys.
Enjoy a picnic lunch and then take in a short dinosaur film at the movie cave. Skeleton Gardens, Mammoth Gardens, interactive statues and giant jigsaw puzzles are some of the special treasures found in this world of dinosaurs. Educational supplements are available and pets are welcome.

Have you ever met a kangaroo? Ever played a didgeridoo? Ever fed a lorikeet? Your group could travel 9,500 miles to Australia to do these things, or just come to Kentucky Down Under, an Australian-themed animal park that specializes in interactive and educational fun.

Kentucky Down Under offers plenty to see and do for all ages. We’ll help you create an itinerary that includes up close experiences with kangaroos, Australian birds, and more. All along the way, you’ll find helpful, knowledgeable interpreters ready to tell you about the animals and to answer your questions.

Kentucky Caverns
You’ll want to include a 45-minute tour of beautiful Kentucky Caverns, one of the most beautiful caves in the country.

A sheltered picnic area is available, or call ahead to arrange a catered meal from the Outback Café that features a variety of salads, sandwiches, unique Aussie fare.

American Cave Museum/Hidden River Cave

Lauded by The Nature Conservancy Magazine as “a little bit of Smithsonian in rural Kentucky”, The American Cave Museum is a state-of-the-art showcase that features exhibits on cave animals, cave explorers, the incredible Floyd Collins story, the history of the area’s caves and more.
Your 45-minute tour in the adjacent Hidden River Cave will take you into one of Kentucky’s most scenic cave entrances to a subterranean river flowing one hundred feet below ground. On his thousand-mile walk to the gulf, famed naturalist John Muir called Hidden River Cave “a noble gateway to the birthplace of springs and fountains and the dark treasuries of the mineral kingdom.”
Optional Adventure Tour
Get a close-up look at the wonders of the underground ecosystem on a 2-hour or 3-hour off-trail adventure. Tour focuses on conservation, safe caving and team building. Ideal for middle, high school, college, scout and adult groups.

Kentucky Repertory Theatre!

Kentucky Repertory Theatre is a modern, air-conditioned indoor theatre that seats 346. Nationally recognized for its quality, professional performances of comedy, drama, classics and original Kentucky plays, KRT has brought theatre to Kentucky for more than 30 years.

A 2008 winner of the prestigious Governor’s Award in the Arts, KRT has been honored by USA Today as “One of the 10 best places to see the lights way off Broadway.” The Cincinnati Enquirer says KRT has “big city quality theatre in small town Kentucky.” And the New York Times says, “The classics flourish by an ancient cave.”

Your group will enjoy the regular season performances and special productions scheduled throughout the year. Add an optional backstage tour and visit the historic Vaudeville stage on the second floor of the historic building that houses KRT.

More than 50 buildings are listed as a National Register of Historic Places Commercial District. Cave City Antique Shops: Browse for antiques, blown glass , gifts and more in downtown Cave City. These shops are in a 2-block walkable area: Magaline’s Antique Mall, Four Season’s Antiques, Dawn’s Addiction, Nuttin’ Fancy Antique Mall, Paul’s Antiques, Trash-n-Treasures, Caverna Florist. Dennison’s Roadside Market: Located just outside Horse Cave about 9 miles from I-65 exit 58 at 5824 S. Jackson Hwy (US 31E)., Dennison’s is right on your way to Lincoln’s Birthplace. Your group will find seasonal flowers and plants, fruits and vegetables, jams and jellies, Amish baskets, crafts and more. Historic Munfordville: Sample southern hospitality at the Munfordville Welcome Center where your group can begin the self-guided Historic Munfordville Walking Tour. That features 13 Civil-War era buildings. Gift shop , snacks, soft drinks, public restroom,. Also check out Tichenor’s Mercantile where antiques mix with eye-catching stuff in an “old country store” atmosphere on the courthouse square.
